Information about the Kananook Creek Association Inc.

 

 

 

The aim of the Kananook Creek Association Inc. is to "clean, restore and preserve the Kananook Creek and its environment". The Kananook Creek Corridor, located in Frankston City, (Melway 99E5 to 102B3) is a valuable environmental and recreational asset of regional significance.

Kananook Creek flows parallel to the Port Phillip Bay coastline for 7.5 km through the suburbs of Seaford and Frankston. Beside it is the Kananook Walking Trail through 43 hectares of natural bushland reserve. It is an ideal location for bushwalking, bird watching and canoeing.

Membership of KCA Inc. can be applied for by clicking on the KCA Inc.'s Web site above. Many of KCA Inc.'s 400 members volunteer to join in activities such as plant propagation, planting, fire fuel reduction, weed eradication, walking track maintenance and the twice yearly clean-ups along the Creek. Some members join the Committee, or represent KCA Inc. on other organizations, such as the Port Phillip Conservation Council Inc.
