Balcombe Creek, above, is one of what were the two largest creeks on the Mornington Peninsula's Port Phillip coast, until Tassell's Creek was turned into a marina in 2007. Balcombe Creek and its vegetated environs have fared better. Unlike Tassel's Creek to the south, it has neither lost its nearby open space, nor been turned into a conduit for boats.
